PopDog LogoThe Birth Story of PopDog

The idea of "Pop Dog Heads" actually came from a casual conversation during a friends' gathering. That day, while eating and chatting, we started complaining about work and life pressures. Suddenly, one buddy laughed and said: "It would be great if there was a game where I could pop all those annoying dog head memes!" Everyone burst into laughter at the time, treating it as just a joke. But this comment stuck in my mind and I didn't forget it.

The next morning, sitting in front of my computer in a daze, my mind was still replaying that "pop dog heads" idea. Then suddenly inspiration struck—why not actually make one? A simple shooting game with funny and magical dog head expressions as targets, both stress-relieving and entertaining, fun to play.

I decided to act on it immediately and spent one afternoon creating a playable initial version. The graphics were crude, with just a background image, one weapon, and a few flying dog heads. But amazingly, while testing it myself, I couldn't stop playing—my hands just wouldn't stop.

Later, I gradually added new features: rotating asteroids, different levels of dog head enemies, weapon upgrades, achievement systems... With each small detail added, the game became more flavorful. Honestly, while writing code, I was secretly enjoying myself: this game is so stress-relieving.

I shared it with friends to test the waters, and unexpectedly, everyone's reaction was very enthusiastic. Some got addicted to score chasing, others said the dog heads were too cute to hit, and still others offered many "creative" suggestions. That's when I thought, alright, this is worth taking seriously.

That's how PopDog came to be, step by step. It's not some big production or super complex project, but it truly carries the laughter of me and my friends.

I gradually added background music, full-screen mode, visual optimizations, and other features, hoping to make it more complete. But no matter how the version upgrades, PopDog's core has never changed: it's just a little thing that lets people vent a bit and have a laugh. If it can give you a few minutes of relaxation in your busy life, that's enough. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to share them with me. PopDog keeps evolving, but its fun is created together by everyone.
